This region is the earliest birthplace of
the Thai Civilization. It is composed of a range of archaeological and
cultural interests. It is 3,900 ft above sea level and is traversed by
the main rivers of Ping, Wang, Yom and Nan.
The Northeast is usually known as ISAN. It is northeast of Bangkok towards the Mekhong River, which divides Thailand from Laos, and south of this, is the mountain range, will take you along the border with Cambodia.
The Region has a dramatic history and rich heritage of ancient temples and battlefields; the ruins of two capitals, Ayutthaya and Bangkok are a continuing fascination for visitors.
The south region extends along the peninsula, between Andaman Sea from the west to the South China Sea on the east. It consists of tropical islands, palm-fringed beaches, coral reefs teeming with colorful marine life and fishing.
